Rice Hulls
** PLEASE NOTE: we do not sell rice hulls as a stand alone order in bulky amounts. But we happily provide them for existing grain brewing customers. Logistically, these are difficult and expensive to obtain. Freight out to customers is calculated on the cubic weight, not actual dead weight. Not available as a wholesale item.
Description/Characteristics:
- used in brewing with dehusked grains.
- does not change the character of beer
- pre-treat by washing thoroughtly through a strainer with hot water (approx. 70-75°C)
- 200-250g is generally sufficient for a 25 litre batch, though with some styles, up to 30% of the grain weight is used for some types of unmalted grains.
