This dark wheat malt is a gently kilned malt made from high quality German wheat. It contributes a mild golden colour to the wort and a robust malty but sweet flavour with notes of bread, biscuit, toffee, and caramel. Wheat malts are high in protein, which helps produce fuller bodies beers. Wheat malt can also improve head formation as well as retention, depending upon the other frist constituents. In top fermented beers, Dark Wheat malts perform especially well, adding creaminess, body and complex wheat flavours. This wheat malt can be dryer in finish.
