This edition of the Crown Urn has been factory modified for thermal protection switching at a higher temperature. It isn't necessary to disable the Thermal Protection unit to attain a constant rolling boil.

Excellent urn for full sized batches of extract or BIAB. Also popular with brewers as a HLT and as a Kettle in 2V and 3V beer brewing systems.

A full stainless strainer/False Bottom is available as a drop in/drop out unit to keep your BIAB bags and hop socks away from the direct heat of the concealed element.

Conversion to a ball valve tap system with stainless pickup tube is a simple job.

The balance of the cost ($20.95) for the strainer will be deducted from your freight cost. We believe this is the best deal going in Australia and will give a new BIAB Brewer every chance of getting started with good gear. The strainer allows rolling fluid during heating stages to circulate under your bag and ensures there are no overheating issues. The strainer stays in the urn right to the end and becomes a base for your drop in chiller to sit on while trub settles post whirlpool. We consider the drop in strainer essential with these units to get the most from them.
