Immersion Chiller Copper
3/8" Copper Immersion Chiller
Copper immersion chillers are an easy way to chill your wort.
Simply clamp a 1/2" garden hose to the end and run tap water through the chiller while immersed in your wort. 3/8" Copper Coil, ideal for single batch size. Could be used for larger batches provided you use chilled water.
Chiller is suits most commonly used Urns, and most pots up to 100L capacity
Can be clamped in-line on Grainfather and Robobrew units on existing chillers to create a pre-chiller in an esky with Ice and water. It''s a relatively common problem in many areas where water sources are up around 28-32 Deg C that brewers struggle to get their wort down to pitch temperature using any sort of chiller. This can be resolved by use of these immersion chillers to pre-chill their cooling water in an esky of ice/water slurry, reducing the water flow rate to 3LPM to chill it before the main transfer run to the fermenter.
An alternative method is to drop the chiller into an esky with Ice and Salt water to create a slurry. The chilling water is then pumped around a closed circuit using a cheap, low volume pond pump. This can decrease water wastage.
